2. Jesus caught lying. Hebrew

By Robbin Koefoed Jakobsen

For those who a critical of the specific words used in newer versions of the bible, those who cares about biblical semantics. The proof of Jesus pre-incarnate lying is still clear and well documented if we believe in christophany.

This article is a continuation of the previous 1. Jesus caught lying. Modern translation article.  The New International Version (NIV) of the bible is used for showing bible passages in this article for easier understanding. Feel free to double check with a hebrew version.

Now

According to old hebrew manuscript the angel makes itself known as god (Jesus pre-incarnate). This is done by the statement in Genesis 22:12 "Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Take notice of the "... from me ... " which makes the angel the recipient of the sacrifice.

In Genesis 22:16 it is written “... I swear by myself, declares the Lord …" the title of god ”the Lord” is translated from the hebrew YHWH but replaced with the hebrew word Adonai which translates into english as 'the Lord'.

Throughout the old testament 'YHWH', the hebrew name of god, is often translated into english as 'the Lord' from Adonai due to an old jewish culture of not pronouncing the name of god because they view it as too sacred.

As you can see from the below passages before the angel calls to Abraham from heaven a second time looking into the future proclaiming Abrahams ”… descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, …” he, in Genesis 22:12, speak as he is unable to know the future stating ”... Now I know ...”.

Genesis 22:11: But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.

Genesis 22:12: “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

Genesis 22:13: Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

Genesis 22:14: So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Genesis 22:15: The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time

Genesis 22:16: and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

Genesis 22:17: I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,

Genesis 22:18: and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

The angel swearing can't be god the father because new testament John 1:18 explains that the son serves as his mediator.

John 1:18: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
